Meet Grace

about me
Want to learn more about me? You’re in the right place. Keep reading to find out who I am, how I got here, and what fuels my desire to design.

Gracey Lane was founded in 2016 while sitting with a good friend of mine with a glass of Rose in hand. So how did I come up with the name? Well, that’s husband Russell calls me Gracey. AND how about Lane..well this website and blog was going to signify the path and new adventures in my life.

And who am I? I’m a proud mom to two energetic and lovable boys, wife to my soul mate,  professional Interior Designer and Lifestyle Blogger at Gracey Lane.

Born in the native Philippines, I lived briefly in Hawaii and spent most of my life in the New Jersey area. I was the black sheep of the extended family taking on a path in the “arts” as opposed to the medical field. Having loved drawing and fashion at an early young age, I knew that the design world is where I wanted to be.  I love to draw and sketch and designing a room and taking on a challenge to make it functional, yet beautiful is what drives me to be obsessed with Interior Design. I started my career in Interior Design in 2002 after obtaining a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts in Interior Design. I worked for a residential decorator whereby I learned many facets of home decor.  I later landed a job working for an architectural firm specializing in high-end residential design and had the privilege or working under the wings of a Registered Architect. I gained valuable experience in Auto Computer Aid Design, drafting construction drawings, working side by side with contractors, engineers and land developers..all the knowledge you can learn about  Interior Architecture.

So now that you know who I am and how I came to be an Interior Designer.. want to know my design style? I would definitely call my design style coastal and casual mixed with vintage flair. I love the color blue because it reminds be of the sky and the beach. Did I mention that I’m a beach girl! I love the beach even though I grew up on the East Coast. Maybe that short stay in Oahu, Hawaii left an lasting impression on me.  AND casual, well the beach is always casual and laid back. How did the vintage get put into the mix of my style? I would say that vintage can be casual, it’s pretty, can look old yet it can turn into something new and classic.  I like the juxtaposition of old and new.

My passion for design encompasses so many areas other than interiors such as entertaining, fashion, food and DIY. Since being a mom, my boys have also inspired me to plan and create children’s parties.
