Trains and Star Wars are the focus in these themed bedrooms. The themed bedrooms were chosen by the two adorable boys who love sleeping in them every night.
But if you’re a mom like me and thinking to yourself, “Well, he loves this now, but maybe in the next two years he’ll move onto something else. When I started shopping for bedding, I kept this in mind. Bedding can be expensive and it is usually the duvet cover and quilt that puts you over budget. So I made sure that these items would be remain classic in style, last through time and grow with him. You don’t necessarily have to shop at kid’s store to find these items either. In decorating this room I started with the themed sheet set, in this case trains and Star Wars. I chose the one sheet set that I liked the best and searched for a duvet cover and quilt that color coordinated with the sheets. I accessorized the room with inexpensive items that represented anything trains and Star Wars. In the Star Wars room, I purchased vintage Star Wars posters and paired it blue colored picture mat and black picture frame that coordinated with the colors in the room. I included Star Wars toys and a Darth Vader clock on his bedside table.
As both boys grow older and their taste changes, I can easily switch out the themed sheets and replace the DIY inexpensive frames and toys. This swap is much more cost effective rather than purchasing another duvet cover and quilt which can run you hundreds of dollars. So have fun and don’t stress because in the next year, you’ll be onto the next theme.
