This residential project is located in Ridgewood, New Jersey. It was a year long home renovation that I was proud to be a part of. The clients bought the neighbor’s home next door and combined it with their existing home. The result created a larger home.. a 6000 square foot home to be exact. The architectural firm whom I worked for designed the exterior of this beautiful home. I designed the interior architecture of this home, but the homeowners worked with a independent decorator who chose all of the home’s furnishings.
The bathroom shown here is one out of five bathrooms in the home. I designed all the custom mill work. This includes the wainscotting in the bathroom, mouldings around the window and the door frames. The client wanted a coastal and casual style. Therefore, I chose a free-standing tub, blue grey paint color on the walls and white bead board panels.
The clients had a large extended family so it only made sense to design a spacious family room. We created this by combining it with the adjacent kitchen. I designed all of the architectural moulding on the ceiling. I also created the custom cabinetry that displayed books and personal belongings. To give the cabinet more interest, I selected materials such as white bead board, white and oak wood finishes. I drew all of the architectural drawings and provided them to a mill worker who then executed the custom product. These custom items were the master bath vanities, bookcase in the kitchen area and fireplace in the sitting room. I wanted to make sure I paid attention to every detail in this home. I was very honored to have had the opportunity to design the interiors of this home. This home was featured in Design New Jersey magazine.
